ADPA is the authoritative voice and the peak body representing Dental Prosthetists throughout Australia, pursuing the advancement of the profession through education, communication and liaison with external agencies to encourage best practice in the provision of dentures.
AHPRA is a government institution regulated by the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law, as in force in each state and territory, which came into effect on 1 July 2010. This law means that 14 health professions are regulated by nationally consistent legislation under the National Registration and Accreditation Scheme. AHPRA supports the 14 National Boards one of which is the Dental Board of Australia that we are bound to. The primary role of the National Boards is to protect the public and they set standards and policies that all registered Dental Prosthetists must meet.
How does a Dental Prosthetist fit into the dental team?
A Dental Prosthetist is a Dental Technician who has done further studies to allow them to deal directly with the patient to construct your new dentures or repair and maintain your present dentures.
At Nind St Denture Clinic conveniently located in Southport CBD, both Michael and Ray will also work with your dentist or specialist to create immediate dentures or immediate additions to your existing dentures (Dentures that are placed immediately after your teeth are extracted).

By direct consultation, you are consulting with the person who actually constructs the dentures. We are qualified to;
Construct and fit dentures.
Personally consult, advise and assist you in all relevant aspects of your treatment in constructing and fit dentures.
Maintain, repair and reline dentures as required by you or your referring practitioner and where necessary provide a referral to another member of the dental health team.
Instruct on how best to care for dentures and when an adjustment or replacement is required.
